Sarasota is pretty well-known for its beaches, but did you know that is has some beautiful parks too? Here are six parks in Sarasota to visit the next time you’re looking for something to do outside.

 

Bayfront Park

Looking for parks in Sarasota that give you the perfect combination of beach and park? Bayfront Park and Marina gives you the best of both with its water views, swinging chairs along the bay, and kayaking and boating areas. There’s a nice walking path. Bring your pooch to enjoy this dog-friendly park with you! If you get hungry, Marina Jack’s is just a short walk away, as is O’Leary’s Tiki Bar and Grill. Be sure to check out the famous “Unconditional Surrender” statue before you leave!

 

Urfer Family Park

Myakka River State Park

Myakka River State Park is one of the oldest and largest Florida state parks, and it protects one of the state’s most diverse natural areas. You can spot alligators and other wildlife from the boardwalk that stretches out over the Upper Myakka Lake and then take to the treetops for a breathtaking stroll along the canopy walkway 74 feet above the ground! The park is also the perfect spot for biking, hiking, camping, fishing, and boating. Stop by the snack bar to fuel up and grab something to take home at the gift shop to remember your adventures.

 

Nathan Benderson Park

Nathan Benderson Park is located right behind UTC mall. This unique recreational spot provides public access to several lakes, as well as a track around a 400-acre artificial lake. Challenge your stamina with a walk, jog, or ride on the manicured trails or take to the water with a canoe, rowboat, kayak, or stand-up paddleboard. The lake is also a world-class rowing and recreational facility – watch thrilling international championship events for free throughout the year!

 

Pioneer Park

If you’re looking for a relaxing place to walk, Pioneer Park is the perfect spot. It has a beautiful marshy area and various trees including lush evergreens, so keep an eye out for alligators! The park also offers an outdoor court where you can shoot hoops or knock some tennis balls around.
