Yearning to hear the crack of the bat or the pop of the pitch hitting the glove? Ready to enjoy a hot dog with the sunshine warming your face at Ed Smith Stadium? With spring officially upon us, we can start looking forward to warm weather and of course, baseball. Although the regular season has yet to start, spring training is here to tide us over. Whether you’re looking forward to enjoying the sunshine or snagging a few autographs, Sarasota is the perfect spot to take in a game of baseball (or two). Grab your favorite baseball cap and get ready to enjoy spring training in Sarasota this year.
Hoping to get an autograph from your favorite player? We have the inside scoop. If time allows, coaches and players may sign autographs from when the gates open to 45 minutes before the game starts. While autographs are not promised, you may just get lucky and head home with a signed ball! Also, never pass up the opportunity to snag a selfie with the Orioles’ mascot!
Delicious Ballpark Grub
There’s little that can be compared to the deliciousness of ballpark food enjoyed in the warm Sarasota sunshine. Unleash your inner foodie at Ed Smith Stadium for either classic ballpark fare, sit down eateries, or numerous Baltimore staples. Waiting right inside the home plate entrance, Café 54 offers a variety of sandwiches and wraps. The cafe name also represents a special meaning. It is named in honor of the year the MLB returned to Baltimore, 1954. Looking for healthy options while enjoying spring training in Sarasota? The Fit Grill located on the upper-level concourse offers healthy choices to help you stick to your fitness goals. Last but certainly not least, we have to recommend trying the Baltimore favorites. Alongside Esskay hot dogs, the crab cake sandwich is an unbeatable choice. Need a cold beverage to wash down all the delicious eats? Draft beer and Coca-Cola products are located throughout the park.
